Sherri McCarthy is Manager of the Western Region in State Affairs for the American Chemistry Council, the major trade association representing the U.S. chemical and plastics industry. In this capacity, she is responsible for assisting ACC’s lobbying team; implementing issue management and communications programs in 12 western states; analyzing legislation; developing the region’s legislative and political grassroots programs; engaging in local government issues affecting the industry.
Prior to joining ACC, Sherri worked as a research consultant for California-based MB Associates while serving as an editor for a literary magazine. She has written and presented a research piece at the National Communication Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, and participated in an honors program in communications at Depauw University in Indiana.
Sherri holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in Communications from California State University, Sacramento. She and her husband, Steve, reside in Sacramento with their two young sons.
