Steven Russell joined the American Chemistry Council (ACC) in 1995 and currently serves as the Vice President of the Plastics Division. In this capacity, Mr. Russell is responsible for promoting the benefits and innovations of plastics to consumers, policy makers, and in key end-use markets. Working with CEOs and member company executives, he leads the development and implementation of proactive programs and partnerships to promote sustainable solutions, and works with stakeholders to address unwarranted bans/taxes of plastic products.

Mr. Russell previously served as the Senior Director for Health, Products and Science Policy. Mr. Russell has also represented the interests of ACC members abroad, including active participation in the chemical management programs of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Prior to joining ACC Mr. Russell served for five years as legal counsel and advocate for the National Agricultural Chemicals Association (currently Crop Life America).

Mr. Russell earned a BA from the University of Kansas in 1984, and a JD from California Western School of Law in 1987. He is a member of the bar in California and the District of Columbia.
